About

A global leader in seaborne transportation of liquefied gases. We play a vital role in the liquefied gas supply chain. Our sophisticated vessels provide an efficient and reliable floating pipe line connecting producers and end users. We seek to build strong, long-term partnerships with our clients based on mutual trust, our deep technical expertise and modern, versatile fleet.

Our Business

What we do

We play a vital role in the global liquefied gas supply chain, providing gas transportation solutions for energy companies, industrial users and commodity traders.

Our sophisticated vessels provide an efficient and reliable floating pipeline connecting producers and end users.

We carry cargoes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemical gases and ammonia across the world’s oceans. Our fleet of sophisticated vessels, initially focused on the handysize sector, now includes mid-sized ships in response to client demand.

Our customer-focused, ‘can do’ attitude enables us to create strong, long-term partnerships with businesses around the world. Our people are experts in gas, ship building and ship management and our gas expertise has wide application onshore as well as offshore. We seek to collaborate with our customers and shipping terminals, developing innovative and efficient solutions to the gas transportation challenges they face.

Our Products

  • Ammonia
Ammonia is a compound of nitrogen and hydrogen. Ammonia contributes significantly to the global demand for fertilisers. Ammonia has a boiling point of -33°C and can be transported on all of our vessels.
  • Ethane
Ethane comes from rich natural gas liquid gas streams and is the most efficient molecule in the production of ethylene. Ethane can also be used as fuel for power plants and for increasing the BTU level in lean natural gas. Ethane has a boiling point of -88.5 °C. Our ethylene capable vessels are suited to carry this cargo.
  • Ethylene
Ethylene is the fundamental plastic building block in the chemical industry and is produced through steam cracking. It has a boiling point of -104 ºC. Our ethylene capable vessels are suited to carry this cargo.
  • LPG
LPG stands for ‘Liquefied Petroleum Gas’ and consists of propane and butane. These gases provide a portable, clean and efficient energy source and are readily available to consumers all over the world. LPG has a wide variety of uses such as in commercial business, transportation, farming, power generation, cooking, heating and as feedstock for the petrochemical industry. Propane and Butane have boiling points of  −42 °C  and −1 °C respectively. All of our vessels can efficiently carry LPG at varying temperatures, subject to shore based restrictions.

History

Since our launch in 2000 we have focused on growing our fleet of liquefied gas carriers, initially specializing in the handysize sector. We transport liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemical gases and ammonia for energy companies, industrial users and commodity traders.

With a new management team in place from 2006, the business has achieved rapid and sustained growth and we now own and operate the world’s largest fleet of handysize LPG carriers.

In 2016 we also moved into the mid-sized market, commissioning newbuild ships with increased capacity in response to requests from our business partners. Our fleet is set to increase from 30 handysize vessels at the start of 2016 to 38 vessels by 2017, including five mid-size carriers.
